Chef Nathan Davenport
Having worked on Sean Brock’s team at Husk for five years, Davenport is firmly in the latter category and is thankful for the opportunity to create a menu that is all about local seafood. A Mt. Pleasant native and Bishop England graduate, he will be using Mark Marhefka’s Abundant Seafood to source fresh fish along with Crosby’s. “We’re going to showcase the quality of the seafood that we have at home in small, approachable plates that can be shared and are affordable.”
Balao: Rooftop Views & All The Seafood
Charlestonians are suckers for two things: seafood and rooftops. Balao is catering to these needs by serving their dynamic menu on a beautiful rooftop deck. Dynamic is almost an understatement, because they change their menu daily to ensure ultimate freshness. It’s so exciting that you could go back to Balao 3 days in a row and have a different experience every time. Now that the weather is warming up, Balao is going to be the new hotspot to enjoy fresh seafood paired with refreshing cocktails.
Reservations can be made on Resy for indoor seating only, as we cannot plan weather. All outdoor seating is first come first serve. All seating is great seating since we serve the finest seafood options you'll ever find.
